Walmart and Sam's Club Kickoff Their 2018 Campaign for Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital
On August 27, the 31 Walmart and Sam’s Clubs from the Greater Baton Rouge Area kicked-off their annual Children’s Miracle Network campaign benefiting Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital. The campaign will go from August 27 to September 30; customers and members will be encouraged to donate $1 or more when they check out at any Walmart or Sam’s Club stores. Associates also fundraise in other creative ways including bake sales, in-store contests and family events.
Several Walmart and Sam’s Club vendor partners are also supporting the Children’s Miracle Network campaign. Coca Cola Bottling Company United, the regional distributor for the Coca Cola Company will contribute a portion of the sales of specially marked Coca Cola distributed products to help the kids at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals on behalf of the Walmart stores.
Red Bull, locally distributed by Crescent Crown, also contributes a portion of sales of its specially marked products at Walmart and is proud to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals nationally, and locally the building of the new Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital.
Leaders from the Dance Marathon at LSU organization also came to support the kickoff for the Walmart and Sam’s Club campaign. Thanks to the support from Walmart and Sam’s Club over the past 5 years, Dance Marathon has raised tens of thousands of dollars in front of local stores, which has also helped build awareness for the program, which is now the largest student-led philanthropic organization at Louisiana State University. Since 2013, Dance Marathon at LSU has raised over $ Million for Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital.
Every donation matters and adds up to make miracles for kids across the Baton Rouge area. You can donate at any of the 31 local Walmart Supercenters, Neighborhood Markets, and Sam’s Clubs between August 27 to September 30. All proceeds from the campaign will be designated to help build the new Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital, located between Essen Lane and Bluebonnet Blvd. For more information please visit https://ololchildrens.org/give/lets-build-amazing/construction-updates
